With the advance in technology, the digital frames are becoming more and more common as every known electronics company is producing them. Now it is a lot easier to display your memories without the need to cut out the photographs and putting them in a photo frame. Different varieties of digital frames are now available in the market and a good guide is needed to buy a digital frame that best meets your needs.
The first thing to choose when you buy a digital frame is the exterior of the frame keeping in mind what will best suit the decor of the room you want to put the frame in. Digital frames are available in different exterior - real wood, metal and plastic. The plastic and metal frames come in many colors and interchangeable faceplates, which are changeable with different mood. The best frame color to choose from is the black, grey, and white as they can go along with any decor.
The usual sizes of digital picture frames available in the market are five to eight inches with prices ranging from $300 to $100 depending on the features of the frames. These small-sized frames look best when placed on a shelf or a desk in a room while the frame sizes ranging from nineteen inch to twenty-two inch look more suitable if they mount it on a wall. The memories of digital frames range from 256MB to 10GB flash memory, which stores your pictures, video, and audio. In addition, they come with memory cards from different brands ranging up to 325GB. So now, even if your digital frame's internal memory is not big enough for all your photographs, you can use any of the memory cards available in the market.
Many digital picture frames have the software's that allow you to play videos and slideshows. They have small speakers' audio file formats installed that allows you to play music along with slideshows. The most common audio file formats that can be played are MP3, WMA, and WAV. Programmed to change the pictures with the set timings varying from one second to several minutes, this is just another service digital frames offer. Most of the digital frames are the plug-in type and need to be placed near to the electric source. This is an advantage as the non-digital frames can be placed anywhere. Due to LCD screen, the pictures displayed in some of the digital frames are not clear when placed in sun and need to be placed in a shade.
